HopeHouse OKC’s Transitional Housing Program provides families experiencing homelessness a fully furnished apartment for 18-24 months and an opportunity to rebuild their lives. There are many obstacles to overcome in order to break the chains of poverty and homelessness. Because these obstacles are unique for every person, we create individualized action plans with each resident family designed to meet their goals and dreams for the future. Families work on things such as: restoring their driver’s license and securing transportation, legal relief, GED completion, continued education, resume development, job training, job placement, money management, and healthy living, just to name a few.

Our goal at HopeHouse OKC is not just to provide housing for people, but to truly walk with them from poverty to security. Upon completion of their action plan, HopeHouse OKC works with the family to find permanent affordable housing for the long-term future.

Breaking generational cycle of poverty and homelessness takes more than just walking alongside a mom and/or dad; it takes a holistic approach that includes the entire family. Children in poverty have often experienced things no child should ever experience. We want to come alongside the HopeHouse OKC children during their formative years and invest in them and give them the tools to not only live a healthier life but to break the cycles of poverty and homelessness for their children and for their children’s children. The hopeKIDS Program serves all HopeHouse OKC children with a focus in 3 main areas: Educational Development, Social Awareness, and Physical Health. We want to see every child heal from their traumatic past and embrace a hope filled future.

One of the goals of HopeHouse OKC is to provide graduate families with market rate housing options that would allow us to operate a continuum of care and support for our resident families even after they graduate from our transitional housing program. ForeverHOME is an opportunity for families who qualify to pay market rate, or near market rate, rent for properties owned by HopeHouse OKC. ForeverHOME provides access to safe affordable housing for families without having to meet the traditional rent and criminal history hurdles. Properties are located in close proximity to our HopeHouse OKC living communities which allows for increased accountability and healthy support. ForeverHOME helps graduate families continue down a path of long-term, sustainable success.
